| Symbolism-Arts is all about symbolism. Rather then direct expression in art we favor indirect suggestion; art in favour of spirituality, the imagination and dreams. Where the symbolic meaning of a word or image is more important then the realistic aspect of it. Symbolism was a late nineteenth-century style of French, Russian and Belgian origin in poetry and other arts. Symbolism was largely a reaction against naturalism and realism, anti-idealistic styles which were attempts to represent reality, and to use humble and ordinary themes rather than ideal or heroic themes. Symbolists believed that art should represent absolute truths which could only be described indirectly. Thus, they wrote in a very metaphorical and suggestive manner, endowing particular images or objects with symbolic meaning. Submission & Joining. Anyone is welcome to join our group, whether it is to submit art or to just be part of the community. We ask that you respect these submission rules. * We accept any medium/style/genre of art. * Any works that are not related to symbolism will be declined * The submission limit is 1 deviations per week. If it's unclear if a submitted artwork has a symbolic nature to it, because symbolism can be very personal, we can inform the artist about it before we accept it. |
